Mixmag Asia Radio: Nhan Solo drops rump-shaking grooves on his Asia Tour

Where are you based and if you’re not from there, how did you get there?

My name is Nhan Solo, a full-blooded Vietnamese who was born and raised in Germany.

What’s your favourite thing about the music scene in the city you live in?

I am from Berlin, a vibrating and inspiring city, a melting pot for art, food, music, you name it. But I also had a feeling that the time was right to start our own thing. The actual impulse was to create a platform that gives us the freedom to release the music that we create, a sort of playground for friends that has taken the shape of an independent house label. Mother Recordings stands for a certain type of quality and saviour.

And in three words, how would you describe yourself?

Groove, Colors, Positivity

Your favourite dance floor in Asia (club, bar, festival, festival stage, your garden)?

I have toured and explored Asia for a couple of years now, have had opportunities to DJ in countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India and Japan, and I must say WOMB in Tokyo was quite impressive and dope.

Name one DJ you’d love to play back-to-back with.

Oh damn, that’s a heavy one as there are heaps out there. Recently had the chance to perform with legend Giorgio Moroder at Before Sunset Festival in Cesme, Turkey. But if I really need to choose, I would love to go for a House set with Boys Noize! Alex is an amazing artist with huge variety and amazing musical history who I do adore a lot!

What can you tell our readers and listeners about your mix? Why is it special to you?

Thanks for giving me a platform to contribute a radio mix. This one is special as half of the tracks are music of my own labels Mother Recordings and Superfett Records. Also, it includes five of my own productions and some really cool unreleased and re-work stuff that you actually can't get at the record store around the corner or obvious download stores. Especially the Nina Rocks (Death On The Balcony Remix) is only available on vinyl, a limited pressing! It also reflects my musical taste, a continuous journey through a night at the club on the dance floor as a booked DJ. So press play, dive in and shake ya rump!
