Mixmag Asia debuts a Resident Revival series in Hanoi
We're landing at the grand 1900 Le Théâtre
If there is a silver lining to the shit storm the world is weathering, it’s that 2020 will be the year that resident DJs will reclaim their dance floors.
Presenting Resident Revival by Mixmag Asia, a series of events geared at putting resident DJs back in the spotlight and let clubs rediscover their defining sound. Together with 1900 Le Théâtre in Hanoi, together we present the inaugural affair on Saturday June 27.
1900 Le Théâtre is an institution in Hanoi. The club is the largest in Vietnam and pays homage to its location, with its deco drawing influence from history and traditional arts. The club boasts a full L-Acoustic Arcs II and has hosted some of the biggest names to roll through Vietnam like Tchami, Malaa, Zomboy, Mark Knight, What So Not, Diplo, Dillon Francis and more, as well as a Boiler Room showcase.
Kicking off the first edition of the series is NgoKien — one of Vietnam's pioneering DJs as well as a resident selector at 1900. His diverse taste in music and versatile DJing style are what make him stand out even when sharing stages with international stars like Diplo, Dillon Francis, Mark Kight, Tchami and more. NgoKien will soundtrack the night with body shaking tech house and soul soothing melodic techno, promising to pave the way for the underground music wave in Vietnam to hit more dancers.
