Magnetic Fields to light up the festival landscape after a two-year hiatus

Venerated festival of contemporary arts and music, Magnetic Fields, returns for its eighth edition in late 2022. The celebrated Indian event series awakens from a pandemic-enforced slumber, with three days of vibrant sub-cultural fun set for December 9-11.

Over the past decade, Magnetic Fields has established itself as a world-renowned highlight of the Asian festival circuit, presenting a kaleidoscopic vision of modern India while showcasing a carefully-curated line-up of cutting edge music and art. The revelry takes place amidst the golden sands of Alsisar in Rajasthan, with the stately 17th Century of Alsisar Mahal providing the resplendent backdrop. The Magnetic Fields team promise “an immersive, sensorial adventure unlike any other on the Indian circuit,” with a range of accommodation packages offered alongside the strictly limited tickets.

The focus of the festival places equal emphasis on curating exciting music and introducing new concepts and experiences to attendees. Previous incarnations have combined experimental sounds with forward-facing jazz and folk music, as well as providing magical spaces offering storytelling, wellness, and much more besides. Understandably, the theme for 2022 is firmly rooted in a long-overdue reconnection with the Magnetic Fields family, friends, and fans.

“We’re incredibly excited and, quite frankly, emotional to be bringing Magnetic Fields back to life this year,” says Munbir Chawla, festival co-founder. “Despite the ups and downs that everyone has experienced over the past couple of years, we’ve always been supported wholeheartedly by our community. With that in mind, our focus this year is on co-creativity, collaboration, commissions and community – leading all programming hand-in-hand with co-creators/promoters/musicians and programmers that have supported us through the years and made Magnetic Fields what it is. We couldn’t be more thrilled about what we have in store for the eighth edition.”

Tickets for the eighth edition of Magnetic Fields will go on sale on June 1. You can purchase them and find out more information here
