Long-time Rainbow Disco Club resident Sisi has died aged 46

International DJ and Rainbow Disco Club resident Sisi, real name Tetsuyoshi Kisisita, has died at the age of 46, his long-affiliated festival confirmed to Resident Advisor.

The festival then confirmed the news on Instagram earlier today, writing: “Sisi passed away on April 22, 2026, at the young age of 46 following a cerebral haemorrhage.”

Funeral proceedings took place on April 30. “We ask for your understanding regarding our decision to refrain from making any announcements on social media until the funeral had taken place,” RDC said.

After cutting his teeth working in a record shop in Shibuya, Kisisita became a resident of Japanese dance music festival Rainbow Disco Club in the early 2010s.

He first performed at an international festival showcase in China in 2013, then becoming a “musical pillar of RDC for many years”, the festival said.

“A DJ of exceptional taste and a passionate record digger, Sisi had an immeasurable influence on us through his unique track selection and performance style.”

Over the next 13 years, Sisi performed all over the world, from Mexico to Thailand, India to Belgium, performing for one final time at Rainbow Disco Club in Chūbu, Japan, just last month.

“In Asia in particular, he left a powerful impression on countless dancefloors, creating moments that are still talked about to this day,” RDC wrote in tribute.

In his wake, RDC are now releasing Kisisita’s final solo performance at an RDC-related party, hosted at Tokyo’s WOMB in March as part of a Love International showcase. He was also due to perform at the Croatia-based festival in July.

“We invite you to experience just how free and profound his music was, and how deeply it moved people’s hearts,” RDC said. “The music Sisi created will continue to resonate within us.”
