VS+ is not just about serving great nights of AV appreciation; it's also educational. The focus has always been on expanding the local underground audiovisual communities and diverse selection of music.
As part of the event, before nightfall, Goth-Trad will conduct an Ableton Live tutorial session, sharing his journey, theories, methods, technical skills, and a demonstration of his creative process using the software.
Goth-Trad is a pioneering figure in dubstep with years of influence, known for pushing experimental sub-bass sounds and shaping the UK–Japan dubstep scene through platforms such as Back To Chill (his own label), FWD, Deep Medi Musik, DMZ, XLR8R, Fabric London, and more.
Alongside running his label to support emerging artists, he continues to develop new solo and collaborative projects rooted in experimental sound design. Between 2019 and 2020, he released the “[special] limited edition” album ‘PSIONICS’, which featured a collaborative calligraphy graphic artwork with USUGROW originally created in 2016, followed by three albums: ‘Mutations’, ‘Survival Research’, and ‘PSIONICS [Album Edition]’.
Further productions from Goth-Trad, Eartaker, and Rebel Familia are expected in the near future. His work explores not only dubstep, but also experimental and industrial sounds infused with dub and rave elements.
Reminder: There is no need to bring a laptop (unless there is something specific to share). This tutorial focuses on sharing experience and demonstrating process and workflow in Ableton Live. It is not a one-on-one consultation session. For reference, the Dubspot Session below may be helpful.
