Klasse Wrecks release latest edition in ‘Rudeboys’ zine series

Klasse Wrecks returns with the latest instalment of their zine series titled ‘Rudeboys Unlimited: Mascots From Dub to Rave’.

Curated and compiled by Joe Reilly, aka Resampled, the zine is the second edition in the ‘Rudeboys’ series, building upon the success of its predecessor.

‘Rudeboys Unlimited: Mascots From Dub to Rave’, alternatively named KFAX13, is the thirteenth release under their KFAX zine collection. In it, the spliff-smoking, baggy trouser-wearing ruff rudeboys are back, taking readers on a journey across multiple decades and continents, representing a diverse range of musical genres such as reggae, grime, rap and more.

The 115-page zine measures 10x14cm and is printed on 70g/m² EOS bible print paper, complete with green glue binding.

Its content comprises iconic mascots from labels, artists and events, with rave identity and tradition always at the forefront.

“The first zine was proposed to us by Joe Reilly, aka @resampld. He seemed to be a proper rave nostalgia nerd, much like me. Recently, Joe approached us to discuss the idea of a follow-up to the successful first Rudeboys zine, as there are numerous mascots and rudeboys from other genres of music that deserve to be documented,” mentions Klasse Wrecks’ Luca Lozano to Mixmag Asia.

“There's always a certain unperfected and unpolished style we keep to. We always look for a certain raw and unpolished style that adds charm to these designs, often created by amateurs with genuine intentions. We’ve never thought much about the reasoning behind it. We do it because it feels right, and we deeply love dance, music, history and culture,” he adds.
