India ushers in Cymbal Festival with a takeover by DJ Bone & Friends

More than just a music festival.

For the first time in 145 years, the stunning he 180-acre compound of Jai Vilas Palace in Gwalior, India will open its doors to host Cymbal Festival, a one-of-a-kind 48-hour long event that will unite various strands of contemporary culture — music, heritage, art and sustainability — to bring you an intimate experience in a breathtaking venue.

The event will also see the debut of DJ Bone and Friends; an event series has harnessed a reputation for its unique vibe and energy. Although Bone himself isn’t playing, he’s curated the Portal Stage line-up for the second day of the festival. For the takeover, he’s drawn upon his extensive list of friends ranging from up and coming talent to legendary names from across the full spectrum of the underground scene.

UK legend A Guy Called Gerald leads the pack with his acid house vibes to the Madhya Pradesh province. Long time DJB&F family Deetron is also slated to play alongside rave institution and scene figurehead Goldie and UK born, NY based-Funster. And finally, Juan Atkins will represent Detroit and round out the line-up in style.

The event in its entirety takes place on March 20 and 21, with Bone’s takeover on the March 21. With Panasonic India on board as a technology partner, attendees can expect the incredible architecture at the palace to be the backdrop to which they’ll dance the weekend away.
