Hong Kong’s Magnetic Soul delivers 60 mins of d’n’b heat
Mixmag Asia Radio 015: Magnetic Soul
They’ve carved and shaped Hong Kong’s drum ‘n’ bass scene for over a decade, and although that scene has recently evolved into a broader community that includes trap and bass, the Magnetic Soul crew stay true and strong to their original sound.
Consisting of three highly committed DJs and close friends, Cookie, Fat Demon and Muggsy, the Magnetic Soul crew have been the driving force behind the d’n’b scene in Hong Kong as well as being a key community player across Southeast Asia. They’ve brought over everyone from Fabio to Roni Size, showcased Goldie at a beach party and tore the roof off a local bar with LTJ Bukem… to name a few moments they’ve created in Hong Kong.
Liquid, rolling, fluid, pumping, dubby, classic rave and undoubtedly soulful would be a simple way to describe their sound. It of course goes far deeper. For this fifteenth episode of Mixmag Asia Radio, Magnetic Soul takes us through a smooth and energetic set that includes a couple of their own releases plus tracks from Soul Connection, Madcap and Furney.
