Detroit-based producer, singer and percussionist Alton Miller has been playing a fundamental role in defining house Music for over three decades and on Thursday, June 22, he brings his extensive sonic repertoire to Hong Kong’s spacious, stylish and chic Ping Pong 129.

Born in Chicago and raised in Detroit on Stevie Wonder, Santana, Parliament Funkadelic and the Philly Sound, Alton Miller's early roots in soul music led to an affinity for clubbing and the perfect storm of music, dance and skill that is required to create it.

Miller began developing his DJing skills under the electrifying energy of house Music founding fathers like Larry Levan and Timmy Regisford, whereas he was often going to Ron Hardy's 'Music Box' and Frankie Knuckle's private loft parties in Chicago.

Drawing on Detroit's rich dance club heritage with seminal places like Club Heaven and L'Uomo, Miller opened the legendary club 'The Music Institute' in 1988, along with his like-minded friends Chez Damier and George Baker.

This event comes in part of Pride Month celebrations, in hopes of spreading the history and knowledge of house music and The Warehouse — a period and movement which Alton Miller was a part of during his time in Chicago and Detroit.
