Emmanuel Jal has collaborated and performed alongside artists such as Lauryn Hill, Peter Gabriel, Nelly Furtado, Joss Stone, Ed Sheeran, Nile Rodgers and Alicia Keys.
Emmanuel Jal has garnered much success through his signature South Sudanese sound and collaborations such as his recent hit ‘Gorah’ (with Nitefreak), launched by Diplo's Higher Ground label, the iconic ‘Kuar’ with Henrik Schwarz/ FNX Omar, ‘Chagu’ (with Moblack/ Henrik Schwarz), ‘Hey Mama’ (Euggy, Suraj, FNX Omar,) ‘Birds’ (with Folamour) and ‘Budah’ (with Angelos & Keene) amongst many others.
Emmanuel has released seven award-nominated studio albums: Shangah, Naath The Key, Gua, Ceasefire, Warchild and See Me Mama. His live appearances have included Live 8, Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert and the One Concert for his Holiness the Dalai Lama.
He is a South Sudanese-Canadian artist who has achieved immense success in the music industry despite an incredibly challenging past.
Born a child soldier in war-torn South Sudan, Jal overcame unimaginable hardship.
Finding refuge in Kenya, he discovered music as a powerful tool for healing and expression.
Jal's unique blend of African rhythms and powerful storytelling has garnered him international acclaim, including a Grammy nomination.
A passionate advocate for peace and reconciliation, Jal uses his platform to raise awareness for child soldiers.
The line-up will also weave in some of your favourite Afrobeats and amapiano tracks to keep the energy high.
The dress code encourages traditional African patterns, vibrant colours, and a touch of gold, creating a celebration of African culture across two floors at The Trilogy (Wav Rooftop and Keyz Nightclub).
Support Gua Africa, Emmanuel Jal's charity based in UK and Kenya, which works to empower individuals and communities affected by war and poverty through education and peacebuilding initiatives.
All profits from merchandise sales at Jiva V will be donated to Gua Africa.
Cash donations will be collected throughout the event for Gua Africa; donations can also be made online here.
