Future Female Sounds launch survey to research challenges faced by women and non-binary DJs

Future Female Sounds this week launched a survey in partnership with female:pressure and shesaid.so to research the particular pressures and trends for women and non-binary DJs in Europe.

The survey is a precursor to a summit that will be held in Copenhagen in summer 2021. The summit is funded by the European Commission, and will bring together women and non-binary DJs from twelve different European countries to discuss industry challenges and opportunities.

The summit will be two days long and held in Copenhagen, and will focus on skill sharing as well as galvanising and community building within the European DJ sector. The summit will be held in conjunction with guidance on COVID-19.

The research gathered from the summit and survey will be collated into a digital DJ guide. Future Female Sounds aim to distribute this to as many DJs as possible to encourage more people of marginalised genders to start DJing and be armed with as much helpful information as possible.

An open call will be made available soon for women and non-binary DJs to put themselves forward for the opportunity to be selected to attend the summit.

For more information, see Future Female Sounds’ recent Instagram post below. Take part in the survey here.
