Fred again.. and Thomas Bangalter tease release of Ally Pally b2b set

Fred again.. has teased the release of his history-making back-to-back set with Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter at Alexandra Palace last month.

In a post shared to Reddit on March 26, Fred again.. shared a photo of himself holding a piece of paper reading: “Hello Daft Punk Reddit – Saturday 5:PM”.

He then explained alongside the post, which appeared in the Daft Punk subreddit, that he would “put this live” at 5:PM March 28 (March 29 for Asia), linking to a premiere of the video on YouTube.

Fans flooded the comments with excitement about the set’s release, calling Fred again.. an “absolute legend” and thanking him for “making a lot of people very happy”.

Thomas Bangalter appeared as a surprise guest during Fred again..'s final show of his multi-date stint at London’s Alexandra Palace on February 27, confirmed just hours before with a photo of the pair shared online.

"I can't believe I'm typing this," Fred again.. wrote at the time on Instagram. "There is only one way to end this tour of surreal whirlwind dream casting. And it is with this man. The greatest."

It marked Bangalter’s first performance in the UK in more than 18 years, following his celebrated set alongside fellow robot Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo at London's Hyde Park for Wireless Festival during Daft Punk's 2007 Alive Tour.

In October, Bangalter also appeared alongside Fred again.., Busy P (AKA Pedro Winter), and Errol Alkan during a show at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, marking his first performance without the robot helmet in some 24 years.
