Finally, a debut album by Malaysian dup Dangerdisko has arrived
It's called Hedonism and it's jam packed with sensory stimulating stories
Malaysian electronic dance music duo Dangerdisko have released their highly anticipated debut album this past weekend to a very excited audience. The group are regarded as one of Malaysia’s favorite groups because of their big love for all sounds disco. They also dabble a bit with nu-disco, 80s new wave, indie dance and house music.
The album is called Hedonism and features collaborations with a wealth of local artists including Fuad Alhabshi of Kyoto Protocol, Meliha Faisal, Sayla, Melissa Indot, Stephanie Morillo and Soraya Taib of The Impatient Sisters.
Hedonism was independently produced but was mastered by Reuben Samuel of Mile High Sounds and is comprised of 10 synth heavy tracks with the album as a whole being built around a conceptual storyline.
“The 10 chapter saga tells the tale of a man, lost in a sea of drugs and addiction; who is on the road to reclaim his life. He then meets a free spirited woman, who teaches him to live life to the fullest, albeit without responsibilities and falls madly in love with her.”
“His hedonistic journey unravels as he is met with betrayal and gets lost in his own delusions. The bitter journey eventually teaches him the value of love, life and hope as he battles through destruction, addiction and his own sanity.”
The album when downloaded from the website also comes tailored with visuals to accompany the story. It is also available for purchase as a Deluxe Edition on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, Rdio and more. The Deluxe Edition features remixes by Stellar Dreams, Naufal and I-Sky, and more.
Dangerdisko got together in 2008 and consists of Kuala Lumpur based friends Farez and Shah. They are well known locally for having played some of the biggest festivals in the region like Future Music Festival Asia, Urbanscapes, Good Vibes Festival, and Heineken Thirst Tour among others. They’ve also toured North America, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.
