El Nido is hosting its first music festival
House, techno, funk, soul and more arrive in Palawan
Often dubbed the Maldives of Southeast Asia, El Nino is set to host its first music festival. Lio Beach Festival is scheduled to arrive in Palawan from June 9th to 11th with three performance stages, over 50 live and DJ acts and 10 public art installations.
From house to techno all the way through to funk and soul, the festival has curated a beach appropriate and inoffensive line-up that is both family appropriate and rave worthy. See the full line-up below.
We’ve recently been to El Nino ourselves and Lio Beach is unspoiled, completely free of any backpacker vibe and boasts some of the clearest waters we’ve ever seen. Because of it’s remoteness, much of the surrounding reef and habitat is rich with sea life and untouched so festivalgoers are reminded to be mindful. Coastal cleanup, tree planting and community outreach as well as limiting tickets numbers are some of the ways the festival aims to preserve El Nido’s sustainability. Kayaking, yoga, rafting, island hopping tours, beach sports and everything else that comes with a beach destination are also on the agenda.
If you're due to take a holiday soon, this would be a good time to check El Nido off your bucket list. Tickets are already on sale but limited to 500 and can be combined with travel packages that include accommodations within walking distance to the festival. Get them here.
