Vietnamese dance titans Dustee & Nimbia combine for an all-out dancefloor assault

Dustee and Nimbia both have a rightful claim to be considered as senators of the Vietnamese dance underground. Between them, the pair have contributed heavily to their nation's now renowned electronic music community. Both of them are established and celebrated DJs whose names reverberate far beyond the confines of their home turf, and in recent years both have been known to call upon all of their vast club experience to drop killer studio productions. Here, the Hanoi residents join forces on Dustee's very own Dusted imprint – a label he set up with the noble ambition of showcases Vietnamese artists to the rest of the world, having already done so much to promote the scene locally. Vietnam was able to contain the Covid-19 pandemic rather effectively compared to most of the world, and as a result, many of its clubs and bars were allowed to reopen under strict health and safety measures. When listening to this new cut, one suspects that Dustee and Nimbia have benefited from the ongoing party action, as it's apparent both have kept their club-claws well and truly sharpened.

'UnderNgao' sees the duo in the mood to rock the floor. The music sits somewhere between chunky tech-house and big room EDM, with its solid groove, vocal samples and stripped production. Enormous synth stabs power in to add electricity as the track unfolds suspensefully before an outrageous LFO sweep bursts in to tear the roof all the way off. The latest Dusted release follows on from Dustee's earlier joint effort with rising star Get Looze and is sure to add another layer of gloss to Vietnam's growing reputation as a hub of subterranean talent
