Dolby is returning to Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) this year with Dolby Atmos House to create a multi-space auditory sanctuary at the city's TOBACCO Theater.

Across October 17-18, the Dolby Atmos House will host a carefully curated programme of listening sessions, concerts, talks, and mixing workshops across four different spaces.

Free and open to all, Dolby will give visitors the unique opportunity to experience cutting-edge immersive sound technology through workshops and performances with world-class electronic musicians.

As part of the Dolby Atmos programme, Dutch imprint Armada Music will be taking over a purpose-built Listening Theatre (powered by STMPD Studios, JUR and CLEVER°FRANKE) on Thursday afternoon (October 17) for a series of intimate listening sessions with some of the most experimental and innovative producers of our times. Artists will give an unmissable insight into their creative process and reveal what Dolby Atmos adds to their music.

The purest of sonic vibrations will be provided by the likes of dance legend Armin van Buuren, Amsterdam-based label head Joris Voorn, and GRAMMY-nominated songwriter Kelli-Leigh among others.

Over in the Mixing Studio, participants can explore the creative possibilities of Dolby Atmos with a run of special workshops delving into the art and craft of multi-dimensional mixing. These will be led by Fiedler Audio (in collaboration with Ableton) and Dutch trance pioneer Ferry Corsten, and powered by Neumann.Berlin.

Also on Thursday, there will be a live recording of The Will Clarke Podcast, discussing the GRAMMY-nominated producer's sound and artistic process using Dolby Atmos. "Sonic Conversations" is set to be an enlightening and interactive talk, delving into highly relevant and forward-thinking themes.

The evening will eventually be rounded off with an impressive concert in Dolby Atmos Live by multi-disciplinary artist and musician LudoWic. The audio-visual spectacle will be performed using Dolby Atmos technology to create a highly atmospheric and sensory experience. This performance is also made possible by STMPD studios, JUR and CLEVER°FRANKE.

On the following day, the Listening Theatre will continue its run of spine-tingling performances with a range of global dance music legends taking to the stage including Manchester’s New Order, Detroit techno artist DJ Bone, hardstyle legend SEFA, Ninja Tune’s LP Giobbi, and fast-rising DJ star CARISTA, with a special guest yet to be announced.

Over the two days, visitors can also experience all-encompassing cinematic Dolby Atmos on a home theatre provided by Ambilight TV. The Living Room will be a relaxed open space to kick back and feel the sonic hug of Dolby Atmos.

Likewise, the Hangout will be open during the entirety of the event, providing an open and inclusive spot to have a drink, unwind, chat and connect with like-minded people — from festival-goers and music lovers to audio professionals and technological trendsetters. Attendees will be able to enjoy immersive audio in the Device bar via headphones.
