Sir Ivan will donate $5,000 to Rave Recovery in his MegaMix competition
Clubs and festivals might be closed and postponed, but that doesn't mean DJs have to put a pause on spinning tunes entirely. That's where the MegaMix DJ competition, hosted by US producer Sir Ivan, aka Peaceman, comes in.
In an effort to support out-of-work and up-and-coming DJs from around the world, Sir Ivan's inviting DJs to submit a mix for the competition, with $1000 each going to the top five winners. On top of that, Sir Ivan will be making a donation of $5,000 to Insomniac's Rave Recovery fund, which was set up to provide relief to dance music fans affected by COVID-19.
Entrants will need to promote their mixes as much as a possible in order to get as many votes as they can. The top 20 with the highest amount of votes will then enter then next phase. If you need any more persuasion to enter, judges working to turn the top 20 into a top 10 will be the legendary Paul Oakenfold, Bassjackers, DJs From Mars, Tenishia and Exodus.
While the top 5 winners will receive a cash prize, the five runner-ups will be treated to sponsored prizes including a signed copy of the fourth edition of The Dance Music Manual, a project with Peak Hour Music, a publicity package from Matt Caldwell PR and guest mix opportunities on EDM Sessions Radio.
MegaMix is running until June 22. To be in a chance of a $1,000 prize, DJs can enter here.
