DGTL festival goes digital with a first-ever multi-stage virtual programme
KiNK, Nicolas Lutz, Adriatique & many more from the original bill are set to play
Amsterdam's beloved electronic festival DGTL is going digital. Earlier this year, the festival debuted in India just before the coronavirus unfurled as a global pandemic and our hopes of further Asian expansion were diminished. The silver lining? The festival is going digital and still looking to make history by attempting to host the world's biggest online music festival, which will allow festival fans all over the globe to experience the magic.
Spread out over two days, people will be able to transform their living rooms into a festival site while maintaining social distancing. The best part about it? No security. Ahem.
DIGITAL DGTL will be in collaboration with live streaming platform NOMOBO and Absolut, with several stages running simultaneously to simulate a real festival as best as possible. It will also be the live stream to offer multiple stages. The line-up features original highly-anticipated artists like KiNK, Nicolas Lutz, Adriatique, Ø [Phase], Julianna, Mary Lake and more. See the full line-up below:
DIGITAL DGTL will take place this upcoming weekend on April 11 and 12 from 14:00 to 23:00 (CET). Apart from live-streamed gigs, revolutionary talks and Q&As on sustainability will also be included in the streaming content. Viewers will also be able to donate to Erasmus University Medical Hospital in Rotterdam during the virtual festival to support the development of a vaccine.
Debuted in 2013, DGTL has been travelling around the world for several years, including Tel Aviv, São Paulo, Santiago, Barcelona, and this year Asian debut in India. Even though DGTL isn't able to complete its mission to be the world's first circular festival by 2020, for sure that they will prepare for a full comeback in 2021, and hopefully they will reign in more regions in the world to spread good electronic music and sustainable festival style.
DIGITAL DGTL takes place on April 11 and 12 from 14:00 to 23:00 (CET) at digital.dgtl.nl. Join the festival here.
