D.Dan reveals new side to his artistry with introspective double single ‘Embers’

On his latest release, Berlin-based producer D.Dan steps away from the dancefloor and into more intimate territory with ‘Embers’— two deeply personal tracks that showcase a different facet of his artistry.

Originally created as a form of catharsis and musical journaling, ‘Embers’ wasn't intended for release. However, after closing out sets with the title track throughout last year and witnessing the profound emotional response it evoked, D.Dan had a change of heart, and we’re thankful he did.

The lead track is a stark departure from the hypnotic, high-octane cuts typically found on his summerpup label — instead, it’s drenched in atmosphere and emotional depth.

Lush synths swell and shimmer, while a subtle, pulsing bassline anchors the composition, making it a perfect, euphoric closer to his sets. It’s simple, yet wildly effective, and we hope he finds himself in this lane more often.

Track two, 'As The Desert Exhales', is an even more unexpected turn: a solo guitar instrumental written in Seattle back in 2021. Stripped-back, brooding, and elegant, it offers a glimpse into D.Dan’s world beyond the club.

With 'Embers', D.Dan reminds us that even artists known for the heaviest of rhythms have softer, more introspective stories to tell, and it’s hopefully a sign of other artists following suit and showcasing their more unexpected personal sounds and styles.
