Comedy film centred around Berghain entry attempt is in the works
The film is based on a podcast following two Americans as they journey to the notoriously exclusive club
A new comedy film centred around an ill-fated attempt to get into Berghain is in the works, Deadline reports.
The film – which is currently untitled – is said to be based on an episode of the podcast Search Engine, titled ‘Why didn’t Chris and Dan get into Berghain?’.
The podcast follows two Americans as they journey overseas in an attempt to enter the famed and notoriously exclusive club, and the events that follow.

According to Deadline, the film will star actors Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, who also co-host Las Culturistas, a podcast produced by Will Ferrell's Big Money Players network.
While no further details around the film, such as title or release date, have been revealed, it’s reported that it will be produced and distributed by Disney’s Searchlight Pictures.
Both Yang and Rogers previously appeared in a 2022 film by Searchlight titled Fire Island, a queer rom-com directed by American filmmaker Andrew Ahn. Both actors will also write the new film, as well as star in it.

In October, a book spotlighting nightlife in Berlin was released by author Liam Cagney, titled Berghain Nights: A Journey Through Techno and Berlin Club Culture.
The book focused on Cagney’s life living in a squat in Berlin, and his experience on a night out at Berghain and the hedonistic scene around it, exploring kink parties and queer spaces in the city.
“Berghain Nights not only captures the excitement of Berlin club culture; it asks how techno in a club context allows people to strip away layers of inherited hang-ups to access a realer self,” read a synopsis.
