Chris Brown arrested in Manchester over alleged 2023 nightclub incident
Brown was reportedly arrested at a five-star hotel just hours after he touched down in the UK
Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester on the morning of May 15 over an alleged 2023 nightclub incident, The Mirror reports.
Just hours after touching down in the UK, the 36-year-old singer was reportedly arrested at The Lowry, a five-star hotel in Manchester, shortly after 2:AM on Thursday morning.
Brown was detained on suspicion of a crime that allegedly took place some two years earlier at a nightclub in London, though no further details around this have been confirmed.
The Met Police told The Mirror: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains.”

“The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023,” the statement adds. “The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”
In 2023, producer Abe Diaw accused Brown of assaulting him at a nightclub in Mayfair, London. He claimed that he was struck in the head “two or three times”, and suffered “severe and lasting” injuries as a result.

Diaw launched a civil claim against Brown, demanding $16 million in damages for the injuries he allegedly sustained, and the losses he suffered after.
Brown has 10 upcoming shows scheduled across the UK as part of his Breezy Bowl XX Tour, kicking off on June 15 with two back-to-back performances at Manchester’s Co-op Arena, followed by shows in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, and more throughout June.
