Calvin Harris sets Guinness World Record for biggest-ever crowd at a DJ set
The Scottish DJ and producer played in front of 1.6 million people in São Paulo earlier this year
Calvin Harris has set the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a DJ set by a single artist.
In February, the Scottish DJ and producer played to a record-setting crowd from a carnival float on São Paulo's Rua da Consolação. A mind-boggling 1.6 million people were treated to hits including ‘This Is What You Came For’, ‘One Kiss’, ‘I Need Your Love’ and ‘We Found Love’ during the set.

The set, which marked Harris' first in Brazil for over a decade, was officially recognised by the Guinness World Records body on September 20, with the musician sharing the achievement via Instagram, writing: "WOW I now have the world record for ‘largest attendance for a DJ set by a single artist’ only in Brazil!!! This was a truly insane day."
Harris also shared a series of videos demonstrating the scale of the crowd, alongside photos of his custom Brazil football shirt with "Calvinho" on the back, which wore for the occasion.
"Calvin Harris has spent years creating music that brings people together, so to see that reflected on this scale is really quite remarkable," says Official Guinness World Records Adjudicator Will Munford.

"An estimated 1.6 million people came out to be part of his performance in São Paulo, which is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to the global reach of his music," he continues.
"We’re delighted to officially recognise him with the Guinness World Records title for the largest attendance for a DJ set by a single artist."
