Boiler Room to make Bangkok debut at this year’s Maho Rasop Festival
Legowelt and Asa Moto join a host of local and international acts for streaming session
Renowned dance music streaming channel Boiler Room is set to make its Bangkok debut at this year’s Maho Rasop Festival, taking over the Rim Daeng Stage for a celebration of subterranean electronica.
Taking place on the outskirts of the Thai capital at ESC PARK, Rangsit, the two-day Maho Rasop festival will bring together a host of regional and international acts, with live music traditionally taking centre stage across the event. In a move that is sure to invigorate enthusiasm among electronic music aficionados, Boiler Room’s inclusion adds a dynamic new element to the already popular festival.
The Boiler Room takeover takes place on Sunday, November 20 and features a selection of local favourites performing alongside an impressive garnish of respected international acts. Celebrated producer Legowelt is scheduled to perform a live set in what’s sure to be a highlight, the prolific Dutch artist arguably the best-known face to feature on the bill. Belgian duo Asa Moto are another intriguing inclusion, having garnered plenty of attention in recent years thanks to releases on labels Deewee and Culted. Elsewhere, familiar Thai protagonists are given the opportunity to work their respective magic on camera, with More Rice Records alumni featuring heavily on the line-up. Producer and mastering engineer CHALO will showcase his deep and dark soundscapes live, while loveable pairing DOTT and Elaheh will join forces for a back-to-back journey into dance music’s shadowy perimeters.
Boiler Room has become something of a dance music institution since launching in London on 2010. The streaming channel has shone light on disparate scenes from across the globe, and its arrival in Bangkok feels especially fitting considering the strides made by the local scene in recent years.
