Bangkok Community Radio (BCR) and One Bangkok Art & Culture present Open Airwaves, a new pop up recording booth and creative space for Bangkok Design Week 2026.
Open Airwaves will be a public space for people to play and create music throughout the week, regardless of skill or experience. A living soundscape for all, it invites anyone to step in, experiment, and share their voice.
Designed and built by BCR, the structure embodies the intersection of design and music. Its modular frame, built for re-use and re-assembly, reflects a commitment to sustainability and circular design, ensuring the installation can live beyond the festival as part of Bangkokʼs evolving creative infrastructure.
Within, the layout and materials encourage interaction, improvisation, and sonic exploration, treating design itself as a vessel for sound.
Visitors will discover DJ decks and an array of electronic instruments, freely available for anyone to explore, play, and create sound.
