Ayako Mori hits hard on her remix of Chemtrailz's new cut 'To Be Right Now'

Japanese techno titan Ayako Mori swoops in with a remix of Chemtrailz 'To Be RIght Now'. Featured on a three-track EP on Chemtrailz's very own Terra Novae label, Mori's mix slots in between a pair of equally robust original tracks from the Texas-based producer.

Based in Germany since 2015, Ayako Mori is surely one of the hardest working creators on the techno circuit. As well as running three labels (Physical Techno Recordings, Kalmary Records and Unbekannt), she regularly turns out hard-hitting club tracks and performs tirelessly at events across Europe. She currently holds down a residency at Gegen – in Berlin's infamous KitKat Club – and kept herself occupied throughout the pandemic by flexing at streaming events for the likes of HÖR Berlin, United We Stream, and Rave the planet. Chemtrailz's 'Wheat From The Chaff' EP arrives hot on the heels of his recent Boiler Room performance, and each of the featured tracks is primed to spark dancefloor delirium among those who like their techno hard, fast and uncompromising.

The collection opens with the original mix of 'To Be Right Now', where a pounding kick drum drives energetic stabs and vocal chops into a stirring breakdown, powering back into life for requisite club-rocking eruption. Next, Mori's interpretation is no-less dynamic, with distorted beats soaring through a densely packed landscape of gravelly synths and nocturnal swirls, undulating over a floor-friendly arrangement, and destined to enliven late-night dancers. Finally, a few shades darker is the title track, 'Wheat From The Chaff', where saucer-eyed synths merge with gyrating swells over piercing drums.
