AMÉMÉ debuts on new Defected sub-label, One People, with 'Wild Animal'
The track is a dancefloor-focused Afro-meets-house affair
AMÉMÉ has landed on Defected Records' new imprint One People to share latest track 'Wild Animal'.
The dancefloor-focused cut welcomes a pulsating bassline alongside groove-infused drumbeats and a compelling commentary to epitomise the West African musician's finely tuned Afro house sonic identity.

“'Wild Animal' represents that state of mind when the music has you on autopilot," AMÉMÉ tells Mixmag. "When you and the beat become one, and you don’t care about what’s coming next - you are in a state of trance. House music is indeed a spiritual thing."
Although this is the musician's first solo original release of the year, 2024 has sen him re-launch his event series, as part of his One Tribe concept. After an initial relaunch at fabric and kicking off a residency at Amsterdam's Shelter, future iterations in April include shows at Egypt and Ibiza.
One People models as the latest imprint from Defected Records, intended to "orchestrate a sonic celebration of Afrocentric music from a diverse and international roster of artists" through sounds of Afro-house, Afro-tech and melodic house.
