Abadi Records unleash mystical Indonesian beats & chants in 'GUNAGUNA'

Abadi Records debuts with ‘GUNAGUNA’, a six-track EP that dives deep into Indonesia's mystic roots.

Drawing on the eerie vibes of 80s horror soundtracks and 90s electronica, ‘GUNAGUNA’ creates a cinematic soundscape where mystical rituals meet club culture, along with a dash of spiritual chanting.

It's available now on vinyl via The Pusher Distribution and LaMunai Records, as well as digitally.

Herta’s ‘Pemburu’ kicks things off with haunting woodwinds, chopped vocals, and groovy percussion. Satta Fire’s ‘Ritual’ brings lighter synths, ethereal female vocals, and atmospheric flute melodies for a mystical twist. Haydr’s ‘Kabut’ feels like a gentle fog, with airy melodies and a steady, calming beat.

‘Cahayu’ by Aldous introduces whimsical notes, spoken-word interludes, and chants that linger in the mind. Munir, aka Midnight Runners, adds a quirky twist with bouncy synths and an eclectic bassline in his darkly playful ‘Gitu’, while LMS wraps it up with ‘Tolak Bala’, a percussion-heavy finale layered with ominous notes, mystical chants, and shimmering chimes.

Overall the tracks balance house-inspired grooves with an atmospheric, almost supernatural vibe, making it a perfect companion for both dimly lit dancefloors and introspective listening sessions at home.
