Yum Cha Chats: How Rezz stays fuelled on tour

The best shows always start with the best foods

Sunday’s are hard but can be made easier with unexpected delights — so here’s some fluff to get you through it. Inspired by a recent jaunt for dim sum with Miss Yellow in Hong Kong, allow us to present the first of many Yum Cha Chats — which means let’s go eat dim sum and drink tea in Cantonese. The series will dig into the obscure and tasty 'fillings' you never knew about your favourite DJs and have nothing to do with music — every Sunday. Best enjoyed from bed…

Being Rezz must be in equal parts electrifying and exhausting. DJ and producer quickly went from her small town in Canada to amassing an almost cult-like following of devotees all over the world (it’s literally called the Cult of REZZ), look it up. She might be a newcomer, but she’s been given the nod of approval by Skrillex, Deadmau5 and Zed’s Dead. When not in the studio producing razor-sharp tunes, she’s travelling the world and exploring new music scenes through her LED googles. This how Rezz stays fueled on tour…

Grilled salmon & veggies

"I'm always looking for this on the room service menu at every hotel. Not picky about the side veggies as long as the skin is crispy."

Salmon Nigiri

"An easy and reliable meal when I'm in a rush or just looking for a good bite. I always feel great after!"

Strawberry Crepes

"It’s rare I like sweets, but I love these crepes. I had it for my first time last year in Australia and have been obsessed ever since!"

Fresh berries

"This is easily my go-to green room meal. I get nervous before going on stage and don't always have a big appetite, so I find it's an easy snack before and after my set to help calm my nerves and keep my hunger satisfied. If I had to choose, blackberries are probably my favourite."

Kale salad with nuts & fresh fruit

"I don't like to eat heavy meals before my sets. I love a kale salad with nuts and fresh fruit because it ensures I'm getting the iron and protein I need before I jump around on stage."
