Where are you answering these questions from?

About 10,000 metres above Singapore

What’s the most unique hotel you’ve ever stayed in?

If I tell you it will soon become uniqueless. One of my favourites belongs to the “Aman”-group.

What was the worst job you had before you were a successful touring artist?

There was no worst job. It would be unfair to single out my days as a croupier in Vegas (laughing)

What’s your favorite band/music right now outside of the dance music industry?

Actually I am a huge fan of “Nils Frahm”, check it out

Do you have any pre-gig rituals or superstitions?

No. I have a certainty that any crowd there to see me must get the best I have and that I should not wear the same polka dot underpants every gig to make that happen

What’s your lamest claim to fame besides DJing?

Genius pole dancing

What’s the strangest cultural thing a promoter has ever taken you to do?

I am afraid that is classified information, although I am glad you reminded me of it.

What is one place that a visit home isn’t complete without?

After a long tour the sauna beckons. I am always surprised how much suddenly sweats out of me, how I just suddenly relax. Deflate. It is the moment where I just sit alone and reflect on such a collision of experiences and the people that go with them

What are your hobbies besides DJing?

Contemplating finding a hobby. I find it so hard to escape music. I love spending as much time as I can with my son Tiga, I collect art and like to share quality times with my friends in good restaurants.

The biggest regret or missed opportunity with respect to your music career?

When those thrash metal bands came calling for that new lead singer I just kept saying no (joking)

Describe your dancing style?

Timeless

Most bizarre situation you’ve ever found yourself in?

See the question below

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever done while performing?

How long have you got ?

What’s the best interview question you’ve ever been asked (besides this one)?

“Sven, how happy would you be if we do not ask you how it all began in Ibiza?”

The strangest thing you’ve ever eaten while on tour?

Deep-fried locust. I was convinced it was fried and that they were not telling the truth.

If you could spend a day with anyone on the planet, who would it be?

Easy, Tiga – my son. I am away a lot so every day is precious.

What do you like to spend your money on?

It is simple to be given music. I like to find and discover my own – and pay for it. And referring to a previous question I invest in art, fine furnitures, and spend my DJ fees for good food & wine.

Go-to hangover food?

It depends where I am. Right now it would be world class soothing sushi.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen happening from the DJ booth?

My brother strutting his stuff in front of me as I played for 12,000 people at Cocoon in the Park, an amazing one stage festival in Leeds England. I was so surprised, as were the Cocoon Dancérs who took some time off and just stood near me and watched. Weird and wonderful.

Weapon of choice?

Tiga’s ping pong ball power poppe
