Where are you answering these questions from?
I am on the Protocol Tour bus, on our way from London to Manchester in the middle of my UK tour.
What’s the most unique hotel you’ve ever stayed in?
Hazelton hotel Toronto
What was the worst job you had before you were a successful touring artist?
Collecting and washing up glasses in a local bar in Holland called Scoop! Can’t really complain though because that job got me to where I am today.
What’s your favorite band/music right now outside of the dance music industry?
Rudimental. They make the best cross over between live music and electronic music in my opinion.
Do you have any pre-gig rituals or superstitions?
I need my sleep before I go behind the decks…
What’s your lamest claim to fame besides DJing?
I don’t like to make lame claims to fame but If I have to answer I would say the cameo I did for the newest Zack Effron film I did recently.
What’s the strangest cultural thing a promoter has ever taken you to do?
India is very special, they always welcome with lots of custom presents and gifts.
What is one place that a visit home isn’t complete without?
A visit to my grandparent’s house. My grandma spoils me so much! She’s the best.
What are your hobbies besides DJing?
Playing FIFA, Call Of Duty, riding my motorbike, spending time with my family & friends.
The biggest regret or missed opportunity with respect to your music career?
I don’t have one! I have done exactly what I wanted to do and not what people told me to do. I feel like it is only just the beginning. It’s been a great journey so far and I am really excited for the future…
Describe your dancing style?
Lots of jumping around!
Most bizarre situation you’ve ever found yourself in?
Most mind-blowing situation was I was in the studio with David Guetta producing a track for Rhianna as she walked into the studio! Now a few years down the line, I won a BMI for that track. It’s surreal!
What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever done while performing?
Haha! I may have tripped over on stage this one time… Otherwise I am never embarrassing…
What’s the best interview question you’ve ever been asked (besides this one)?
I was asked by Data Transmission at Ultra Europe this year how my transition from DJing/Producing to Label/Artist Management has changed my perspective on music. It was definitely one of the best questions I had heard in a while.
The strangest thing you’ve ever eaten while on tour?
Frog legs.
If you could spend a day with anyone on the planet, who would it be?
Michael Jackson
What do you like to spend your money on?
I like to spend my money on my family… I love being able to give back to them.
Go-to hangover food?
Pizza and hamburgers
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen happening from the DJ booth?
A lot of stuff goes down… Sometimes it’s best not to talk about what I see! Haha.
Weapon of choice?
Protocol bombs. To slaughter the dance-floor.
