WHAT TO EAT

CAFÉ DEL MAR
Bali, Indonesia

Alongside its shiny new beach club, Café Del Mar in Bali has debuted a Mediterranean-inspired dining room as a stage for their esteemed chefs. Expect something special here from sous chef Graeme Palmer and his all-star team, like a decadent menu featured modern European dishes with international and local influences plated Michelin-style alongside jugs and jugs of sangria and a bounty of creative cocktails. Sitting just steps from the ocean, the space altogether embraces a farm-to-beachside focus where you can drink, dine and dance under the stars for a full day at Café Del Mar Bali. Eat here.

Honourable mention: Chef Chalee Kader of 100 Mahaseth (and SOT fame) runs a nose-to-tail restaurant that elevates traditional Isaan food to new dimensions. Having received a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2020, the Si Phraya restaurant has been on the must-eat list of many Bangkokians for a long time now but its distance from the city's Sukhumvit-based hotspots has been discouraging. Not anymore, a new outpost opens this month in Ekkamai with a cocktail menu based on local spirits and 50-80 natural wines from around the world -- filling a much needed gap in the market.

WHAT TO DO

THE 60 SECOND FILM FESTIVAL
Saturday, February 28
Whitleline, Bangkok

’Anything Can Happen Inside A Minute’ reads a tagline for The 60 Second Film Festival in Bangkok, and we’re inclined to agree. Taking place annually at underground music hotspot Whiteline in Thailand’s capital city, The 60 Second Film Festival is a super fun, collaborative film festival event that encourages a local and international film community to create 60 seconds of super-shorts. The categories include Best Film, Best Film About The Environment, Best Director, and a Sustainable Filmmaking Challenge with prizes to be won. Aside from a heightened cinematic experience, there will also be art, music, drinks and fun for film lovers. Remember what they say, it’s not important how long it is, what matters is the quality. Get tickets here.

Honourable mention: ‘Banksy: Genius Or Vandal’ is an exhibition running now in Hong Kong that showcases over 70 pieces of Banksy’s original artwork where visitors can marvel at and immerse themselves in an amazing collection of the elusive artist's work from over the years.
