The wireless headphones are an over-ear version of the Apple's in-ear AirPods and will be shipping from December 15.
One key feature of the AirPods Max include Adaptive EQ, which is used to adjust the sound to the fit and seal of the ear cushions by measuring the sound signal delivered to a user and adjusting the low and mid-frequencies in real time.
Each ear cup is equipped with three outward-facing microphones to detect environmental noise, ensuring Active Noise Cancellation, while there is one microphone inside each ear cup.
Other features include Transparency Mode - meaning users can listen to music and outside noise at the same time - and Spatial Audio, which allows for an immersive, theatre-like listening experience for audio recorded in 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos. There is also Automatic Switching which means users can move between iPhone, iPad and Mac easily, Audio Sharing and Siri compatibility.
Retailing at £549 and available in five colourways (space grey, silver, sky blue, green, and pink), the AirPods Max have up to 20 hours battery life and come with a Smart Case which allows them to sit in low power mode when not in use.
