Calling all amateur DJs — it's your chance to be on the Tomorrowland 2020 line-up
Tomorrowland, Fedde Le Grand & Pepsi MAX are coming together to find ‘The Sound of Tomorrow’ 2020
Calling all amateur DJs – here’s your chance to DJ at Tomorrowland 2021. ‘The Sound Of Tomorrow’ has arrived – a multi-country competition to find the best up and coming DJ talent across Western Europe – brought to you by Pepsi MAX and Tomorrowland.
As Tomorrowland and many other live music events across the world are unable to take place this year, upcoming DJ talent needs a platform more than ever. While this year’s Tomorrowland festival has sadly been cancelled, Pepsi MAX will continue its support of Tomorrowland and DJs by still shining a spotlight on performers with small audiences but big talent.
Think you’ve got what it takes? All you need to do is prepare your best festival mix and submit it via ‘The Sound Of Tomorrow’ website. It needs to be between 20 and 25 minutes long and should be inspired by the passion showcased by Tomorrowland’s People of Tomorrow as well as the festival’s values of Friendship, Love and Unity. Mixes will be judged on creativity, track selection, technical ability, flair and popularity (the number of plays and likes of the track – so get promoting!)
The four best DJs will go on to perform live across Tomorrowland’s social media channels in front of a panel of legendary DJs on the evening of Tuesday July 7. Contestants will battle it out online before a winner is chosen to play at Tomorrowland 2021 and release a remix on Fedde Le Grande’s Darklight Records.
Fedde Le Grand will be involved throughout the contest – from shortlisting finalists and taking part in the finale live stream, to sharing top tips and advice on how to make a start in the world of music production.
“WHEN I FOUNDED DARKLIGHT RECORDINGS, IT WAS MY MISSION TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM FOR NOT ONLY MY OWN RELEASES BUT FOR UPCOMING TALENT"
“When I founded Darklight Recordings, it was my mission to provide a platform for not only my own releases but for upcoming talent," says Fedde Le Grand. "I’m looking for people that have their own style, real crate diggers who will bring fresh tunes but that are able to rock the crowd of Tomorrowland! This year opportunities for both up and coming and established artists have diminished – which is why opportunities like The Sound of Tomorrow are even more important.”
Make sure you submit your mix here by June 10 23.59 CET and set a reminder for Tuesday July 7 so you can check out the unmissable live stream on Tomorrowland’s social channels.
