LCD Soundsystem to play Clockenflap for their only Asian festival date of 2016
The additions unveiled in the second phase also include George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic and Rødhåd
The Mixmag Asia office erupted in cheers today when we found out that LCD Soundsystem will be joining previously announced acts like Sigur Rós, Crystal Castles and Fat Freddy’s Drop at this year’s Clockenflap Festival in Hong Kong.
After a five-year hiatus, LCD Soundsystem announced their return to touring late last year as well as a highly anticipated album expected to be out later this year. They will headline the festival's final night - Sunday November 27th. This will be the band’s only Asian festival date of 2016 so needless to say, don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.
George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic and 世界末日SEKAI NO OWARI were also announced today, along with Rødhåd, BADBADNOTGOOD, tfvsjs, and 慘慘豬 CharmCharmChu. They will join Foals, José González, 朱凌凌Juicyning, and 陳綺貞Cheer Chen on the bill, who were announced in May. The full line-up is available here and more names are still to be announced.
The 9th edition of Hong Kong's beloved music and arts festival will take place on Friday November 25th through to Sunday November 27th at the Central Harbourfront, a change from previous years but will still provides revelers with stunning vistas of Hong Kong. Last year over 60,000 festival goers flocked the idyllic location and after today's early announcement, we expect this year to be its biggest yet. It is rumored that early bird ticket sales have already broken records.
