Funk D’Void closes out March with a highly anticipated Asia Tour

Lars Sandberg, better known by his stage name Funk D'Void, has been a driving force in the electronic music scene since the mid-90s. With a musical journey that began at the age of 15, influenced by the Chicago and Detroit sounds, his career has been nothing short of transformative.

Raised by a professional pianist mother, music was ingrained in Funk D'Void's upbringing. His early encounters with the 808 drum machine on Marvin Gaye's 'Sexual Healing' sparked a fascination with electronic sounds that would shape his future.

A pivotal moment for the Glasgow-born, Barcelona-based producer was when he pivoted to Detroit techno, defining his signature style as visceral, soulful, and uncompromising.

Throughout his career, Funk D'Void has delivered a string of hits like 'Jack Me Off', 'Bad Coffee,' and 'Emotional Content' alongside memorable remixes for industry heavyweights such as Underworld, New Order, and Kevin Saunderson.

Having released via Bedrock, Cocoon, Drumcode, All Day I Dream, Freerange, Lost & Found, Octopus, and Tronic, it was his timeless track 'Diabla' on Soma Quality Recordings that truly solidified his reputation, seamlessly blending house and techno to create an end-of-night staple in many sets of fellow beat purveyors.

Get a feel of his sonic vibe below, via his ‘Raw Belters’ series that provides instrumental, voice-free versions of his 2023 podcast.

Funk D’Void's impact extends beyond his musical endeavours, as seen by his establishment of Outpost Recordings in 2010 and the launch of Fixed By Funk in 2018; a platform designed to support and guide emerging producers, showcasing his commitment to nurturing talent within the industry.

Closing out the month of March, he brings his infectious beats and magnetic stage presence to audiences across Asia once again, after a brief Bangkok stint in 2018 plus stops in Beijing and Taipei back in 2012.

Make sure not to miss out on seeing this formidable force in the electronic music industry live; dates below.
