An artist has painted your favourite drum 'n' bass and jungle DJs

An artist will be showcasing her portraits of drum ’n’ bass and jungle artists next month at the former Black Market Records site in London.

Charlotte Archer will be holding her first ever solo portrait show at the Cut & Grind Barbershop in Soho on December 12.

The Barcelona-based artist will be showcasing her oil and acrylic paintings of artists like Fabio & Grooverider, Kemistry and Storm, Roni Size and Shy FX for one night only.

Archer said: “I wanted to paint a collection that had meaning; with the DJs who feature in my pieces and how they have shaped the drum ’n' bass landscape, I hope I have managed to achieve that.”

The former record label building was chosen for the exhibition as it is seen to be synonymous with drum 'n' bass and jungle.

DJ Darren Jay, who is featured in the exhibition, said: “Her passion for the scene combined with her talent as an artist as well as the current nostalgia towards the early days of jungle struck a chord.

“It’d be impossible for Charlotte to paint all the people that deserve recognition but how fitting the exhibition is at Black Market Records.”

Jay and Archer met in Ibiza when Archer showed him some of the portraits that she had done when working with The Abode Project whilst in Uganda.

Archer often works with charities and 15 per cent of all proceeds from the December exhibition will be donated to Denny’s Fund, a fundraising initiative for Jumping Jack Frost's six-year-old nephew Denny who suffers from ALL Leukaemia. Donate here.
