theLOOP in Taipei are looking for resident DJs from around Asia

theLOOP announced this weekend that it was looking for resident DJs for a forthcoming bar and club set to open in Taipei.

It appears the new club will not play EDM or much electronic music at all, as they’ve requested mixtapes and demos showcasing hip-hop, R&B, funk, nu jazz, trap and bass music.

“Mixes should cover the above genres ranging from low-mid volume cocktail hours to full blown hi-volume party in one or two separate mix," the club has said.

The application is open to DJs from Taiwan and also neighboring regions, with residencies spanning anywhere from three months to three years depending on individual situations. Work permits will be provided to qualified candidates.

"It's the first time we're expanding the search Asia wide because we feel Asia is merging into one market," the club added. "We hope that by getting more regional talent to Taipei, it will elevate and motivate local talent."

While few details surrounding the new club have been revealed, it is slated to open in October with a few test runs at the end of the month.

The one thing we do know about the direction of the new venue is that it will boast a VOID Acoustics sound system with audio integration services and knowing what we know from their previous endeavors, no detail or expense will be spared.

theLoop, which was the group behind the legendary club LUXY and now the award-winning nightclub OMNI, has been operating for almost two decades in Taiwan and is wildly known around Asia for its luxe clubbing experiences.

This is a rare opportunity and theLOOP encourage you to share with talent around Asia. Interested artists can send streaming/download links to [email protected].
