Fuji Rock has just announced its 2017 line-up and it’s mental. It was LCD Soundsystem that initially caught our eye since we totally feel that they owe Asia a show or ten after bailing on Clockenflap (please don’t cancel this time, please don’t cancel this time) but then we saw that Aphex Twin, Björk, Bonobo, Major Lazer, The XX, Queens of the Stone Age and more and suddenly we’re looking at summer flights to Japan from the office. It doesn't even stop there, this is only the first wave of artists. There is more to come.
You can see the full first wave of acts below but can we just talk about how pumped we are that LCD Soundsystem has been (re)booked for Asia after a 5-year hiatus? By that time they'll surely be performing songs from their forthcoming album. Here’s to hoping that there are more dates for the region to come. We deserve it.
Fuji Rock takes place from July 28th - 30th at the Naeba Ski Resort, which is accessible from Tokyo Station. The festival has been running since 1997 and reguarly attracts over 100,000 festivalgoers. More information and ticketing is available on the website here.
