Is Asia ready for a really hardcore hardstyle festival?

Asia's first dedicated hardstyle festival arrives in Thailand this March and it's description has certainly got our attention. Mostly we were curious if Asia, more specifically Thailand, was ready for this European trend and it's unique idiosyncrasies. Well, it probably is.

It’s no secret that Thai's love their EDM and hardstyle is just that but…harder. Much harder. And with the number of massive EDM festivals that occurred in the country snowballing to dozens, a hardstyle/jumpstyle festival was a natural next progression.

Anotherworld debuts in Bangkok on March 3rd at the Bangkok Motorsports Land, rescheduled from November 2016 after the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in October.

On the line-up is Belgian jumpstyle heavyweight Coone, Dutch producer Noisecontrollers, ex-Bioweapon member Code Black, World Music Award-nominated producer Zatox and hardstyle-trap duo Lny Tnz. There will also be an afterparty at CÉ LA VI with Dutch prodigy Davin Wild.

Here is where it gets interesting. The tagline reads “unleash the riot of the unknown world. Welcome to the music reverence of darkness” and the dress code suggests thematic anti-human costumes with words like grandoise, sinister, nymph, nightmarish, eerie, whimsical, grotesque, lunatic and mysterious as inspiration. See a sample below.

Judging from the concept illustrated on their Facebook page, next level and multi dimensional stage production is to be expected.

Intrigued? Exactly. Tickets to Anotherworld start at 1,800 THB and 2,500 THB. They are available here. Watch the tailor below.
